Download 4 3 2 1 books, SHORTLISTED FOR THE 2017 MAN BOOKER PRIZE A Globe and Mail Best Book A New York Times Notable Book of the Year From the internationally celebrated author of The New York Trilogy comes a sweeping story of birthright and possibility, of love and the fullness of life itself, in which we follow the four parallel lives, loves, and obsessions of one remarkable boy during a time of great change in America. On March 3, 1947, in the maternity ward of Beth Israel Hospital in Newark, New Jersey, Archibald Isaac Ferguson, the one and only child of Rose and Stanley Ferguson, is born. From that single beginning, Ferguson's life will take four simultaneous and independent fictional paths. Four Fergusons made of the same genetic material, four boys who are the same boy, will go on to lead four parallel and entirely different lives. Family fortunes diverge. Loves and friendships and intellectual passions contrast. Chapter by chapter, the rotating narratives evolve into an elaborate dance of inner worlds enfolded within the outer forces of history as, one by one, the intimate plot of each Ferguson's story rushes on across the tumultuous and fractured terrain of mid-twentieth-century America. A boy grows up -- again and again and again. As inventive and dexterously constructed as anything Paul Auster has ever written, 4 3 2 1 is an unforgettable tour de force, the crowning work of this masterful writer's extraordinary career.

4321, a book by Paul Auster. Get 4321 Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. In the right photodynamic therapy conditions, light is able to kill nearly anything that is living such as cancers, microorganisms, parasites, and more. On the opposite face, light of the correct wavelength and proper dose (photobiomodulation) can heal, regenerate, protect, revitalize and restore any kind of dead, damaged, stressed, dying, degenerating cells, tissue, or organ system. This book discusses both sides of Janus' face in regards to light therapy.

Software Architecture and Design for Reliability Predictability, a book by Assefa D. Semegn. Get Software Architecture and Design for Reliability Predictability Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download Software Architecture and Design for Reliability Predictability books, Reliability prediction of a software product is complex due to interdependence and interactions among components and the difficulty of representing this behavior with tractable models. Models developed by making simplifying assumptions about the software structure may be easy to use, but their result may be far from what happens in reality. Making assumptions closer to the reality, which allows complex interactions and interdependences among components, results in models that are too complex to use. Their results may also be too difficult to interpret. The reliability prediction problem is worsened by the lack of precise information on the behavior of components and their interactions, information that is relevant for reliability modeling. Usually, the interactions are not known precisely because of subtle undocumented side effects. Without accurate precise information, even mathematically correct models will not yield accurate reliability predictions. Deriving the necessary information from program code is not practical if not impossible. This is because the code contains too much implementation detail to be useful in creating a tractable model. It is also difficult to analyze system reliability completely based on the program code. This book documents the resulting novel approach of designing, specifying, and describing the behavior of software systems in a way that helps to predict their reliability from the reliability of the components and their interactions. The design approach is named design for reliability predictability (DRP). It integrates design for change, precise behavioral documentation and structure based reliability prediction to achieve improved reliability prediction of software systems. The specification and documentation approach builds upon precise behavioral specification of interfaces using the trace function method (TFM). It also introduces a number of structure functions or connection documents. These functions capture both the static and dynamic behaviors of component based software systems. They are used as a basis for a novel document driven structure based reliability prediction model. System reliability assessment is studied in at least three levels: component reliability, which is assumed to be known; interaction reliability, a novel approach to studying software reliability; and service reliability, whose estimation is the primary objective of reliability assessment. System reliability can be expressed as a function of service reliability. A mobile streaming system, designed and developed by the author as an industrial product, is used as a case study to demonstrate the application of the approach.

Get Handbook of Computer Vision Algorithms in Image Algebra Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download Handbook of Computer Vision Algorithms in Image Algebra books, Image algebra is a comprehensive, unifying theory of image transformations, image analysis, and image understanding. In 1996, the bestselling first edition of the Handbook of Computer Vision Algorithms in Image Algebra introduced engineers, scientists, and students to this powerful tool, its basic concepts, and its use in the concise representation of computer vision algorithms. Updated to reflect recent developments and advances, the second edition continues to provide an outstanding introduction to image algebra. It describes more than 80 fundamental computer vision techniques and introduces the portable iaC++ library, which supports image algebra programming in the C++ language. Revisions to the first edition include a new chapter on geometric manipulation and spatial transformation, several additional algorithms, and the addition of exercises to each chapter. The authors-both instrumental in the groundbreaking development of image algebra-introduce each technique with a brief discussion of its purpose and methodology, then provide its precise mathematical formulation. In addition to furnishing the simple yet powerful utility of image algebra, the Handbook of Computer Vision Algorithms in Image Algebra supplies the core of knowledge all computer vision practitioners need. It offers a more practical, less esoteric presentation than those found in research publications that will soon earn it a prime location on your reference shelf.

Finite Automata and Application to Cryptography, a book by Renji Tao. Get Finite Automata and Application to Cryptography Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download Finite Automata and Application to Cryptography books, Finite Automata and Application to Cryptography mainly deals with the invertibility theory of finite automata and its application to cryptography. In addition, autonomous finite automata and Latin arrays, which are relative to the canonical form for one-key cryptosystems based on finite automata, are also discussed. Finite automata are regarded as a natural model for ciphers. The Ra Rb transformation method is introduced to deal with the structure problem of such automata; then public key cryptosystems based on finite automata and a canonical form for one-key ciphers implementable by finite automata with bounded-error-propagation and without data expansion are proposed. The book may be used as a reference for computer science and mathematics majors, including seniors and graduate students. Renji Tao is a Professor at the Institute of Software, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing.

Get An Atlas of the Smaller Maps in Orientable and Nonorientable Surfaces Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download An Atlas of the Smaller Maps in Orientable and Nonorientable Surfaces books, Maps are beguilingly simple structures with deep and ubiquitous properties. They arise in an essential way in many areas of mathematics and mathematical physics, but require considerable time and computational effort to generate. Few collected drawings are available for reference, and little has been written, in book form, about their enumerative aspects. An Atlas of the Smaller Maps in Orientable and Nonorientable Surfaces is the first book to provide complete collections of maps along with their vertex and face partitions, number of rootings, and an index number for cross referencing. It provides an explanation of axiomatization and encoding, and serves as an introduction to maps as a combinatorial structure. The Atlas lists the maps first by genus and number of edges, and gives the embeddings of all graphs with at most five edges in orientable surfaces, thus presenting the genus distribution for each graph. Exemplifying the use of the Atlas, the authors explore two substantial conjectures with origins in mathematical physics and geometry: the Quadrangulation Conjecture and the b-Conjecture. The authors' clear, readable exposition and overview of enumerative theory makes this collection accessible even to professionals who are not specialists. For researchers and students working with maps, the Atlas provides a ready source of data for testing conjectures and exploring the algorithmic and algebraic properties of maps.

Patterns in Permutations and Words, a book by Sergey Kitaev. Get Patterns in Permutations and Words Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download Patterns in Permutations and Words books, There has been considerable interest recently in the subject of patterns in permutations and words, a new branch of combinatorics with its roots in the works of Rotem, Rogers, and Knuth in the 1970s. Consideration of the patterns in question has been extremely interesting from the combinatorial point of view, and it has proved to be a useful language in a variety of seemingly unrelated problems, including the theory of Kazhdan—Lusztig polynomials, singularities of Schubert varieties, interval orders, Chebyshev polynomials, models in statistical mechanics, and various sorting algorithms, including sorting stacks and sortable permutations. The author collects the main results in the field in this up-to-date, comprehensive reference volume. He highlights significant achievements in the area, and points to research directions and open problems. The book will be of interest to researchers and graduate students in theoretical computer science and mathematics, in particular those working in algebraic combinatorics and combinatorics on words. It will also be of interest to specialists in other branches of mathematics, theoretical physics, and computational biology. Fuzzy Engineering Economics with Applications, a book by Cengiz Kahraman. Get Fuzzy Engineering Economics with Applications Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download Fuzzy Engineering Economics with Applications books, Fuzzy set approaches are suitable to use when the modeling of human knowledge is necessary and when human evaluations are needed. Fuzzy set theory is recognized as an important problem modeling and solution technique. It has been studied ext- sively over the past 40 years. Most of the early interest in fuzzy set theory pertained to representing uncertainty in human cognitive processes. Fuzzy set theory is now - plied to problems in engineering, business, medical and related health sciences, and the natural sciences. This book handles the fuzzy cases of classical engineering e- nomics topics. It contains 15 original research and application chapters including different topics of fuzzy engineering economics. When no probabilities are available for states of nature, decisions are given under uncertainty. Fuzzy sets are a good tool for the operation research analyst facing unc- tainty and subjectivity. The main purpose of the first chapter is to present the role and importance of fuzzy sets in the economic decision making problem with the literature review of the most recent advances.

Bayesian Inference for Stochastic Processes, a book by Lyle D. Broemeling. Get Bayesian Inference for Stochastic Processes Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download Bayesian Inference for Stochastic Processes books, This is the first book designed to introduce Bayesian inference procedures for stochastic processes. There are clear advantages to the Bayesian approach (including the optimal use of prior information). Initially, the book begins with a brief review of Bayesian inference and uses many examples relevant to the analysis of stochastic processes, including the four major types, namely those with discrete time and discrete state space and continuous time and continuous state space. The elements necessary to understanding stochastic processes are then introduced, followed by chapters devoted to the Bayesian analysis of such processes. It is important that a chapter devoted to the fundamental concepts in stochastic processes is included. Bayesian inference (estimation, testing hypotheses, and prediction) for discrete time Markov chains, for Markov jump processes, for normal processes (e.g. Brownian motion and the Ornstein–Uhlenbeck process), for traditional time series, and, lastly, for point and spatial processes are described in detail. Heavy emphasis is placed on many examples taken from biology and other scientific disciplines. In order analyses of stochastic processes, it will use R and WinBUGS. Features: Uses the Bayesian approach to make statistical Inferences about stochastic processes The R package is used to simulate realizations from different types of processes Based on realizations from stochastic processes, the WinBUGS package will provide the Bayesian analysis (estimation, testing hypotheses, and prediction) for the unknown parameters of stochastic processes To illustrate the Bayesian inference, many examples taken from biology, economics, and astronomy will reinforce the basic concepts of the subject A practical approach is implemented by considering realistic examples of interest to the scientific community WinBUGS and R code are provided in the text, allowing the reader to easily verify the results of the inferential procedures found in the many examples of the book Readers with a good background in two areas, probability theory and statistical inference, should be able to master the essential ideas of this book.

Cisco IOS Cookbook, a book by Kevin Dooley,Ian Brown. Get Cisco IOS Cookbook Books in several format like PDF, EPUB, Mobi. Download Cisco IOS Cookbook books, Never has something cried out for a cookbook quite as much as Cisco's Internetwork Operating System (IOS). IOS is powerful and flexible, but also confusing and daunting. Most tasks can be accomplished in several different ways. And you don't want to spend precious time figuring out which way is best when you're trying to solve a problem quickly. That's what this cookbook is for. Fortunately, most router configuration tasks can be broken down into several more or less independent steps: you configure an interface, you configure a routing protocol, you set up backup links, you implement packet filters and other access control mechanisms. What you really need is a set of recipes that show you how to perform the most common tasks, so you can quickly come up with a good configuration for your site. And you need to know that these solutions work: you don't want to find yourself implementing a backup link at 2 A.M. because your main link is down and the backup link you set up when you installed the router wasn't quite right. Thoroughly revised and expanded, Cisco IOS Cookbook, 2nd Edition, adds sections on MPLS, Security, IPv6, and IP Mobility, and presents solutions to the most common configuration problems, including: Configuring interfaces of many types, from serial to ATM and Frame Relay Configuring all of the common IP routing protocols (RIP, EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP) Configuring authentication Configuring other services, including DHCP and NTP Setting up backup links, and using HSRP to configure backup routers Managing the router, including SNMP and other solutions Using access lists to control the traffic through the router If you work with Cisco routers, you need a book like this to help you solve problems quickly and effectively. Even if you're experienced, the solutions and extensive explanations will give you new ideas and insights into router configuration. And if you're not experienced--if you've just been given responsibility for managing a network with Cisco routers--this book could be a job-saver.
